Bream zone

After barbel zone we descend one level down to the bream zone where riverbeds are wide and deep, with sandy and muddy bottoms, and a slow flow. Barbel and bream zone are related because certain fish species from one zone reside in the other zone. In this zone, besides bream, roach, tench, perch, zingel and our Croatian cod burbot, we will also find pike, carp, perch and catfish. One of our largest fish species which is found in this zone is catfish, a large nocturnal predator. Largest caught specimen weighed around 350 kilograms. Catfish up to seventy kilograms in size live in Korana next to the Aquarium.
